Kiron Thakar Singh was born on 14 th June, 1955 in Bangalore. She went to a school in Jabbalpur and graduated from Punjab University. Her Punjabi debut film was Aasra Pyar Da in 1983. Some of her best works are Bariwali, Sardair Begum, Devdas etc. she won several awards for Khamosh Paani in 2003. She joined BJP and is the member of Lok Sabha. She is married to Anupam Kher and has a child. She has also acted in the English series ER in 2004. She also won several awards of IIFA, LUX and Star Screen.
